First-hand knowledge: the II Federal Educational Marathon "New Knowledge" will feature stars of science, culture, sport, business and prominent statesmen

Audiences across Russia will be able to watch the speakers of the II Federal Educational marathon "New Knowledge" online on the https://marathon.znanierussia.ru website, as well as at the Russian Society «Znanie» group on VKontakte social media https://vk.com/znanierussia.

Among the confirmed participants are Dmitry Chernyshenko, Sergey Lavrov, Vladimir Medinsky, Valery Falkov, Andrey Fursenko, Sergey Shoigu, Anna Kuznetsova, Denis Protsenko, Elena Shmeleva, Konstantin Ernst, Alexey Likhachev, Alexey Miller, Sergey Chemezov, Vladimir Mashkov, Mikhail Piotrovsky, Konstantin Khabensky, Karen Shakhnazarov, Alexander Ovechkin, Svetlana Romashina, Vasily Vakulenko (Basta), Tatiana Bakalchuk, Arkady Volozh, Evgeny Kaspersky and others.

The participation of foreign science, culture and art stars, whose names are currently kept secret, is also expected.

The main venues for the event will be studios in six Russian cities, from where the marathon will be broadcast to viewers. Each city will present its own thematic track: the "Knowledge" track in

Moscow, "Sports" in St. Petersburg, "Digital World and Media" in Kazan, "History and Culture" in Nizhny Novgorod, "Business" in Vladivostok, and "Science and Technology" track in Sochi.

The marathon programme includes lectures, interviews and discussions in the studios, as well as video tours from unique places around the country. This way, “New Knowledge” will cover the entirety of Russia: expect speakers in theatres, museums, sports stadiums, educational centers, and the offices of major Russian companies.

 

The audience will also be able to follow debates between academics, entrepreneurs, artists and public figures. The public debates will touch on the hottest topics in the contemporary Russian society. For example, whether we should return to the offices in the post-Covid era: pros and cons; whether theatre should become part of pop culture; electric cars - saving the environment or the biggest hoax of the 21st century.

As part of the II Federal Educational marathon, thousands of lecturers, educators and mentors will travel to Russian schools and speak to children in public classes. The initiative, called "Share Your Knowledge", will be supported by representatives of civil society organizations, statesmen, governors and the heads of major Russian corporations. In turn, Russian schoolchildren and students will visit dozens of Russian companies in the format of Open Doors Days, where they will be able to not only broaden their horizons, but also meet potential employers.

Additionally, as part of the "New Knowledge" marathon, a series of #ВпередКЗнаниям events will take place across the country from 1st to 4th of September. Participants in the “Big Change” community will create their own guide to scientific discoveries of the 21st century in the short video format. In the Russian regions, representatives of major youth organizations will hold a series of educational workshops, lectures and meetings with well-known “Know the Village” speakers. On these dates, volunteers of #МЫВМЕСТЕ movement will distribute school kits to children from low-income and disadvantaged families. On the 4th of September, the All-Russian social movement “Volunteer Medics” and the Russian Red Cross will hold disease prevention and career guidance events for schoolchildren in paramedical and midwifery centers in remote communities.
