The Russian University of Transport (RUT (MIIT) is ready to assist in the training of personnel and scientific support in the implementation of infrastructure transport projects in various countries of the world.
The Russian University of Transport (RUT (MIIT), the leading national transport university, is a major inter-transport scientific and educational center, one of the biggest industry-based universities in Russia and a base for human resourcing and scientific support for the development of transport sector.
The RUT (MIIT) was established on the 23rd of May 1986 as the Imperial Moscow Engineering College (IMIU) by the decree of Emperor Nicholas II. Classes started on the 12th of September 1896.
From July 1st 2017, the Moscow State University of Railway Engineering of Emperor Nicholas II was renamed to the Russian University of Transport and underwent to the authority of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The university has acclaimed the new status.
For over 120 years of history, more than 650,000 highly qualified specialists with higher and secondary vocational education have graduated from the university walls. They successfully work in transport and other fields in Russia and 57 countries of the world. Among the graduates of MIIT there are more than 30 Heroes of the Soviet Union and Socialist Labor, leaders of the transport industry, renowned academics, members of the Russian Government, governors, mayors of large cities, well-known public figures, prominent representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church and culture, the country's most successful businessmen.
Among the famous Moscow sights, designed and built by graduates of the MIIT are: The Bolshoi Theatre, The Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the main building of Moscow State University, Ostankino TV and radio Tower, Moscow Metro and many others.
Other examples of transport projects, realized by scientists and graduates of MIIT: Baikal-Amur Mainline Railway, Olympic venues in Sochi etc.
RUT (MIIT) has a leading position in scientific support of innovative development of Russian transport. 24 scientific schools of MIIT, known both nationally and internationally, carry out their activities.
One of the largest university libraries in Russia, founded in 1896, is functioning at MIIT. The total library fund exceeds 4.4 million copies. The electronic catalog contains 300 thousand items. 30 thousand units in the form of the electronic books (27 thousand textbooks and 11 thousand manuals) are available. The University publishes scientific journals: "The World of Transport", "Science and Technology of Transport", "POISK (search)".
Educational programs of the RUT (MIIT) are included in the list of the best educational programs of innovative Russia.
The total number of the university employees is over 3400 people. The number if teaching staff of more than 1400 people:
• more than 210 Doctors of Science;
• more than 780 Candidates of Science;
• more than 170 Professors;
• more than 540 Associate professors;
The total number of students is more than 93,000. There are 30,000 people studying under the programs of higher education. More than 19,000 people are studying under the programs of secondary vocational education. The rest are the students taking courses and programs of refreshment training and extended education. Annually about 550 programs of additional professional education are implemented at MIIT with up to 50,000 managers and specialists of transport and other areas of the economy being trained and retrained.
The RUT (MIIT) has been issuing the European Diploma Supplement since 2013. Over 400 graduating students got this diploma upon graduation. The European Diploma Supplement corresponds to the model developed by the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO. The purpose of the supplement is to provide independent data in order to improve international "transparency" and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.). The supplement describes the nature, level, content and status of the studies that have been done and successfully completed by the student.
A multidimensional cooperation is carried out with 169 educational institutions and partner companies from 45 countries of the world. For the development of international relations of the university, joint educational programs are being created for the main transport specialties, as well as for the specialties and programs of the inter-transport and general transport profile, including programs of double diplomas, academic and student exchanges and internships for teachers in partner universities. In the RUT (MIIT), joint conferences and seminars are held within the framework of which an exchange of experience is carried out in the field of effective organization of the educational process and its methodological support of joint training. Training of scientific and academic staff of the highest qualification is held within joint doctor and post-graduate programs with partner universities with the use of individual training plans and joint scientific research related to the thesis topic. The faculty members training is implemented in various forms, including traineeships.
The Russian University of Transportation (MIIT) provides training within all educational programs of higher education - bachelor's degree, specialist degree, master's degree, as well as programs for the training of scientific and academic personnel - postgraduate study. The qualification upgrade training is available in various forms including traineeships.
BACHELOR’S DEGREE
The duration of training is four years (8 semesters). The duration of each semester is 5 months. The winter semester lasts from September 1th to January 30th. The summer semester is from February 7th to June 30th. The admission takes place from June 20th to August 21st. Entrance examinations are conducted from June 20th to August 21st. PRE-UNIVERSITY TRAINING OF RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
• Period of study: 1 year (2 semesters). Duration of each semester - 5 months. Duration of the first semester: from September 1st to January 30th. The second semester - 5 months from February 7th to June 30th. Admission - from June 20th to August 21st. Entrance examinations are not provided for. The cost of training is 2580 US dollars per course.
TRAINING
It is possible to organize and implement various programs for advanced training and retraining. By agreement with the Customer, the topics of training, the necessary list of questions, the duration of training are determined. Conducting classes is possible both at the university with the use of the necessary laboratory facilities, and at the places determined by the Customer.
